Lucas Rauch was born in 2000 in the Thuringian city of Weimar. He began playing the piano at the age of 6, but discovered his true passion for the drums at the age of 11. He initially learned the drum set, but shortly afterwards also classical percussion, gaining extensive experience in brass bands (e.g., Brass Band Hessen, Brass Band Sachsen). In addition to this scene, the jazz scene also became increasingly interesting to him. Since then, he has regularly performed in small groups as well as big bands. Today, his stylistic diversity ranges from world music to traditional jazz, rock, and special niche music.

Lucas completed his Bachelor of Arts in Jazz Drum Set at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy University of Music and Theatre in Leipzig in 2025. There, he received lessons from Dominique “Gaga” Ehlert, Max Stadtfeld, and Professor Eric Schäfer.
